Oakley Transport, a national transportation company with a rich history, was facing a significant challenge common to the logistics and transportation industry: high employee turnover. The transient nature of the workforce, combined with the allure of better opportunities elsewhere, led to frequent departures that disrupted daily operations, increased training and onboarding costs, and made it difficult to foster team cohesion and build long-term employee loyalty. 

This high turnover also impacted employee morale, as the constant churn created an environment where workers felt less engaged with the company. Oakley sought a solution to not only reduce turnover but also promote a stronger company culture and team loyalty, particularly among new hires.

To address this, IDX partnered with Oakley to create a branded merchandise program tailored to their employee onboarding process. IDX collaborated closely with Oakley’s team to design unique onboarding kits that would set the tone culturally for new hires, helping them feel welcomed and valued from day one. 

These kits, filled with items new employees actually enjoy, fostered a sense of connection and belonging. Additionally, IDX optimized Oakley’s kitting process, providing a storage and fulfillment solution that saved space and reduced costs through bulk purchasing

Before this, Oakley was responsible for the kitting and storage, which strained their resources. The solution included a new ecommerce platform that allowed their nationally dispersed team to access materials easily, ensuring employee engagement and appreciation opportunities extended throughout the year.

With around 500 new employees onboarded, Oakley’s new hire welcome kits have been a huge success during orientation, creating efficiencies and increasing engagement throughout the organization. IDX is proud to be in its third year of partnership with Oakley.
